Tottenham Hotspur vs Arsenal: Adebayor can torment Gunners

Harry Redknapp’s side head into the North London derby in the unusual position as favourites – and rightly so.

This is one of the weakest teams Spurs will have faced in a North London derby in recent years and they should give their neighbours a run for their money…

Match odds

Tottenham are 11/10 favourites to take the bragging rights, whilst Arsenal are 12/5 to win.

Spurs will be aware of the Gunners frailties at the back and are likely to exploit them – especially considering they have scored six goals in their previous two games against the Gunners and haven’t lost at home against them since 2007.

Goal markets

One thing’s for certain – there are sure to be plenty of goals – in the past four games between these sides there have been an impressive 17 of them.

Last season Spurs produced a stunning fight back to beat Arsenal 3-2 at the Emirates and came from two goals down to earn a 3-3 draw at White Hart Lane. Backing over 2.5 goals looks well worth a punt at 8/13.

While at Arsenal, Emmanuel Adebayor scored six goals in seven North London derbies.

He’s started his Spurs career brightly and few would bet against him scoring against his former employees – Adebayor is the shortest price to score to score first at 9/2 and is 6/4 to score at any time.

However, Robin van Persie offers the greatest value for money.

The Dutchman is Arsenal’s key man and, having scored 21 goals already in 2011, represents good value at 5/1 to net first at White Hart Lane.
