Man Utd vs Man City: Rooney and Aguero set to be centre stage

Published:

The biggest game of the Premier League season so far takes place this Sunday as top of the table Manchester City travel to Old Trafford to take on reigning Premier League Champions Manchester United.

With the exception of a dire goalless draw at Eastlands last season, the last few clashes between these sides have all produced brilliant goals and thrilling games.

Both sides head into the game on the back of hard-fought Champions League games in the week and we are all set for another intriguing match…

Match odds

Sir Alex Ferguson’s men head into the game as narrow favourites at 11/10 and have a brilliant record against City in the Premier League.

United have only lost one home game against City in the Premier League era and, combined with the fact they haven’t lots at home since a 2-1 defeat against Chelsea in May 2010, it’s easy to see why they’re fancied.

However, this is a vastly different City team to the ones that have preceded it and City showed in last season’s FA Cup semi final that they have the beating of United.

Backing City at 13/5 to get the win could lead to a very decent payout.

Goal markets

Despite his trials with England, Wayne Rooney has been in sparkling form in front of goal this season, scoring nine goals in the league, and can be backed at 6/1 to find the net first.

Meanwhile, Sergio Aguero has also been brilliant and, after scoring from the bench against Villarreal in the week, he will surely start and is a tempting proposition at 8/1 to score first.
