Man Utd enter the unknown against Champions League new boys

It was supposed to be easy for Manchester United after they were given a dream Champions League group draw.

But two games in and Sir Alex Ferguson’s men are still looking for their first win after a solid draw away to Benfica and a 3-3 draw at home against Basel that saw them throw away a two goal lead.

They are big favourites at 1/5 to get a victory against Otelul Galati this Tuesday though and it’s hard to look beyond a win for United.

The Romanian champions may be out at 14/1 to win , but they have given a good account of themselves so far in the competition and have only lost by a single goal in their opening games away to Basel and at home to Benfica.

However, they have been on a poor run of form recently and have won just one of their previous five games in all competitions – and that was a friendly against Tiraspol.

With United able to rest the likes of Wayne Rooney, Javier Hernandez and Nani against Liverpool at the weekend, they should have more than enough attacking flair to break down a team that have kept just three clean sheets in their previous ten games.

Backing United to win at 1/5 and for over 2.5 goals to be scored at 8/15 look the bets worth taking on.

Meanwhile, United’s Group C rivals Basel host Benfica in what should be a battle for second place.

Both teams are level on points and goal difference after two games and this promises to be a tight affair.

However, Benfica haven’t lost a game since their 1-0 Europa League defeat against Sporting Braga in May and look good at 1/1 to pick up an important three points.
