Jessie J, Adele and Arctic Monkeys head the Q Awards shortlist

The 13th Q Awards sees Jessie J, Adele and Arctic Monkeys lead the charge, with three nominations apiece, while Chris Martin’s Coldplay, Ed Sheeran and Mercury Prize-winner PJ Harvey are among the names nominated twice for the magazine’s awards.

In the esteemed Best Act in the World Today category, 2009 winners Muse head the Q Awards betting at 5/2 but they can expect competition from Arcade Fire and Kasabian, who are both available at 3/1.

Adele dominates the Best Track category, as she has the two leading fancies in this market. Someone Like You is the favourite at 1/1, while Rolling In The Deep can be backed at 3/1.

However, the chart-topping artist, who has sold three million copies of her second album, 21, faces competition from Aloe’s Blacc’s I Need A Dollar and Arctic Monkeys’ Don’t It Down ‘Cause I’ve Moved Your Chair.

Glastonbury performers’ Coldplay (3/1) and Beyonce (6/4) will go head-to-head for the Best Live Act, but Chase and Status and Elbow should not be discounted at much bigger prices of 5/1 and 7/1 respectively.

Last year, it was Florence & The Machine who hit the headlines winning both Best Female and Best Track with You’ve Got The Love, while Take That made their first public appearance as a band since Robbie Williams quit in 1995.

Previous awards have been located at the notorious Abbey Road Studios and Park Lane Ballroom, this year The Grosvenor House Hotel in London has been chosen as the venue for the star-studded evening.

Other markets that have nominations are the best male artist, with Tinie Tempah leading the way at 9/4, but competition is set to be strong, with Wretch 32 and Example also with high hopes in this area.
