Name change leaves Little Mix with no identity and no fan base

Frankie Cocozza is the hot favourite to be eliminated from the X Factor this weekend at 11/10.

Despite escaping the possibility of eviction in previous weeks, his popularity may be diminishing among family viewers after his foul language on last week’s live show.

The Brighton teen admits he is the least technically gifted vocalist and viewers may grow tired of his poor performances and wannabe-rockstar attitude.

“I know I’m the weakest singer in the competition, nice of people to keep reminding me,” he said.

Cocozza faced the ire of celebrities on twitter including Michael Vaughan – the ex-England cricket captain tweeted under the hash-tag #notcool.

But Cocozza’s ability to grab headlines will make him a a favourite in Simon Cowell’s eyes and the X Factor mogul is reportedly considering a return to the show in order to bolster viewing figures, with 300,000 fewer viewers tuning in for the third live show results than the second.

Meanwhile Tulisa’s understudies, Rhythmix (now Little Mix), were widely pilloried by the other judges for not strictly sticking to the category – the all-girl quartet are 9/2 to go out this weekend.

Little Mix will be hoping the name change can ignite their X Factor campaign after the threat of a lawsuit by Rhythmix Charity, a children’s music aid organisation, meant the girls had to drop the Rhythmix moniker.

In an open letter on facebook, Rhythmix Charity’s chief executive Mark Davyd, implored Cowell to make the change saying it was harming the good work of the charity and tainting its brand.

Louis Walsh may claims that Kitty Brucknell comes to him with ‘creative’ ideas that are alternately brilliant and scary, but the viewers don’t seem to agree with Brucknell available at 9/2 to get the boot this week.

The singer displays the most impressive musical talent of the three, last week playing the piano while singing and, of the options, she is the least likely to leave.

Given Cocozza’s wow factor, and young audience lure, the best bet is Little Mix to be voted off.
