Chelsea victory still looks one step too far for improving Arsenal

Arsenal’s results may have improved significantly in the last few weeks, but there are some big reasons to believe that supporters are getting ahead of themselves thinking they can now win away at Chelsea.

Arsene Wenger’s team have won their last three matches in all competitions, which includes a big Champions League success in Marseille.

Meanwhile, Chelsea will head into the showdown frustrated after a defeat at QPR, which also saw Jose Bosingwa and Didier Drogba sent off and therefore suspended for the visit of Arsenal.

However, Chelsea have the squad to cope with these absences and their form at Stamford Bridge shows they will still take all the beating.

New manager Andre Villas Boas is still to be beaten at Stamford Bridge, while Chelsea have triumphed in all four Premier League home matches so far this season.

Arsenal have been far from dominant on their travels, failing to win any of their four away games and losing on three of these occasions.

These form lines on their own make Chelsea a great price at 8/13 in the Premier League odds to beat Arsenal.

Arsenal also currently lie seventh in the Premier League standings, but worryingly they have only taken one point from their four games so far against teams above them in the table and this was against over-achieving Newcastle.

With Stamford Bridge arguably being more of a fortress than White Hart Lane or St James’ Park, this is another reason why Arsenal’s dismal away form may continue.

Finally, Arsenal have lost on their last two visits to Stamford Bridge without even managing to score.

For punters still believing Arsenal have turned a corner, it is 5/1 they beat Chelsea and 13/5 that they leave with a point.
