Arsenal vs Stoke: resurgent Gunners face stiff Stoke test

Published:

Despite their disappointing start to the season Arsenal have at least started picking up points in recent weeks and are favourites for this clash against Stoke.

Stoke come into the game on the back of a brilliant 3-0 win in the Europa League against Maccabi Tel Aviv though and shouldn’t be discounted for this clash…

Match odds

The Gunners head into their game with Stoke as favourites at 8/15 having won every home Premier League game against Tony Pulis’ men.

Stoke also have a dismal away record and have won just one of their previous 14 Premier League games away from the Britannia.

However, Stoke have shown in the past they can beat Arsenal and have beaten them at least once a season for the previous three years.

The Potters can be backed at 11/2 to come away from the Emirates with a win.

Goal markets

The recent games between Arsenal and Stoke have provided plenty of goals, with only two of their previous seven encounters yielding less than three goals.

With Arsenal ‘boasting’ the third worst defence in the league, backing over 2.5 goals at 8/11 looks well worth considering.

Meanwhile, Robin van Persie has bagged five goals in the league already this term and hit a brace against Sunderland last week, making him look a tempting bet at 7/2 to score the first goal of the game.
