Strictly Come Dancing support for former Neighbours pair

A first overseas Strictly Come Dancing winner is being predicted for the upcoming series and Australian duo Holly Valance and Jason Donovan have been the subject of the early market support.

When the Strictly Come Dancing betting market was first created, Donovan was available at 10/1, with Valance 8/1.

However, the duo, who have both previously starred in Australian soap Neighbours, have seen their prices shorten, with Valance now the 5/1 second favourite and Donovan in to 8/1.

Valance will have some dancing experience from her brief singing career, while Donovan should have no problems commanding an audience following his stint in the West End.

But Donovan has admitted that his previous dancing experience is limited, while his parents will not be expecting him to shine on the dance floor.

He told Unreality TV: “My father says I have two left feet and this is the perfect opportunity to prove him wrong. I believe that a person can succeed at almost anything for which they have unlimited enthusiasm.

“People will think that because I’m in the theatre dancing is just part of the whole package but I’ve never had any formal training in movement.”

McFly drummer Harry Judd remains the favourite to win Strictly Come Dancing at 2/1, but he is one of those to see their odds drift in recent days, after initially being priced at 6/4.

Nancy Dell’Olio has moved from 16/1 to 25/1 in the Strictly Come Dancing odds, while boxer Audley Harrison has seen his price massively alter to 50/1.

Of the other contenders, The One Show presenter Alex Jones is 6/1, Lulu is 10/1 and former bad-boy footballer Robbie Savage can be backed at 14/1.
