Rugby World Cup: Wales 25/1 to win World Cup after Namibia rout

Published:

Wales’ Rugby World campaign has been ticking along rather nicely so far and their classy 81-7 win against Namibia this morning showed they are a team to be feared.

The Welsh nearly got their tournament off to a perfect start with a win against defending champions South Africa, but the Springboks rallied late on to edge out the Northern Hemisphere side 17-16.

Wales this morning set records for the most points and tries they have ever scored in a single World Cup game and the walkover could be a real momentum builder.

It looks as though Wales will now finish Pool D in second place which sets up a probable quarter final clash with fellow Six Nations side Ireland.

The last four encounters between Ireland and Wales have seen both sides record two victories apiece and their potential last eight meeting looks like being an incredibly tight affair.

Backing Wales to win and then get knocked out at the semi-final stage could be well worth a punt at 3/1.

Meanwhile, tomorrow sees Canada face Japan in what promises to be a tough game.

Japan have yet to pick up a point in the tournament though and backing Canada for the win at 2/5 looks the bet to take on.

Finally, Italy should have enough to beat the USA who have lost both of their previous two games against the Azzurri by an average difference of just under 20 points.

Back the USA to win with a +21 point advantage.
