Reavie and Snedeker to surprise in the Tour Championship odds

Luke Donald may be heavily fancied favourite at 6/1 to win the Tour Championship, but it may pay to focus on two of the lesser known Americans to triumph in the final event of the FedEx Cup play-offs.

The American challenge is expected to be led by current FedEx Cup standings leader Webb Simpson, alongside highly-rated trio Matt Kuchar, Dustin Johnson and Nick Watney.

However, Brandt Snedeker and Chez Reavie could be far better golf betting options as they both arrive at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta in prime form.

Becoming the overall FedEx Cup champion may be slightly out of his own hands as Snedeker currently sits sixth in the overall standings, but his recent form gives him a cracking chance.

Snedeker has already finished third on two occasions in the opening three play-off events and can call on the fact that he has already triumphed on the PGA Tour this season.

This represents Snedeker’s first Tour Championship appearance since 2007 and his mentality of attempting to birdie every hole rather than constantly watching the scoreboard will stand him in good stead.

Although Snedeker should challenge, it may be Reavie who stands the best chance of securing victory.

Reavie is making his first appearance at East Lake, but has finished in the top ten in three of his last four starts.

But what is perhaps more notable is the consistency he showed at the BMW Championship, when he was one of just a few players that ended the tournament under par in each of their four rounds.

He will also be buoyed on by the fact that he has already narrowly missed out on victory in the FedEx Cup series, when losing a play-off to Simpson at the Deutsche Bank Championship.

Snedeker is 25/1 in the Tour Championship odds to triumph, with Reavie the value bet at 40/1 in the 30-player field.
