Premier League title looks destined for United or City

If there was any doubt that Manchester’s United and City are the teams to beat in the Premier League this year, then a couple of excellent displays on Saturday should have put those doubts to bed.

United are the current 5/4 favourites for the title and, after another demolition job, it’s easy to see why.

Sir Alex Ferguson’s side have now scored more goals after four games than any other side in Premier League history after their 5-0 win against Bolton.

Meanwhile, City are level on points at the top of the table and just three behind in goal difference after their 3-0 win against Wigan Athletic.

Roberto Mancini’s men are now in to 2/1 to win the Premier League title.

It’s also worth keeping an eye on the top goalscorer market with Sergio Aguero and Wayne Rooney both getting excellent hat-tricks in their wins.

Rooney is favourite to land the first golden boot of his career at 5/2 after hitting consecutive hat-tricks against Arsenal and Bolton, taking his total for the season to eight goals already.

Aguero is not far behind on six strikes and can be backed at 7/2 to make it a memorable first season in England.

However, punters shouldn’t rule out Javier Hernandez at 8/1 – especially as his first start of the season yielded two goals.

With Mancini showing he’s happy to leave in-form strikers on the bench after dropping Edin Dzeko for the Wigan game – despite the Bosnian hitting four against Tottenham Hotspur last time out – Augero could see himself rested for certain games.

Hernandez has shown he can score goals in England, making the 8/1 offered look extremely tempting.
