Man City, United and Chelsea set for Barkley bidding war

Everton’s financial woes look like being eased considerably this January, with Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea all in the hunt for midfielder Ross Barkley.

The Toffees teenager has impressed so far this season and Everton can expect a bumper pay day if all three clubs decide they want him.

According to the Sunday Mail, the clubs are prepared to pay up to £30million – making him the most expensive teenager in football.

In financial terms the move makes sense for Everton, but footballing-wise it would be a bitter blow as they look to get back into Europe.

Everton are currently 12/1 to be relegated from the Premier League following their 2-0 defeat to Manchester City yesterday.

City are also thought to be interested in snapping up both Neymar and Robin van Persie.

Although it’s assumed Neymar will be heading to Real Madrid in January, City are thought to be interested in signing the 19-year-old Santos striker.

Meanwhile, City are also keeping an eye on Van Persie as his transfer talks with Arsenal continue to stall.

Quite where they will fit into a City side that already boasts the likes of Sergio Aguero, Edin Dzeko and Mario Balotelli is another matter and it’s hard to see either of these rumours being anything more than that.

City are currently 2/1 to win the Premier League following their comfortable win against Everton and Man Utd’s 1-1 draw away to Stoke.
