Impressive England will still be too good for revitalized Wales
Published:England captain John Terry may say he expects a tough game against Wales this Tuesday, but there’s no doubt the Three Lions should roll over their neighbours at Wembley.
England were in cruise control last night as they swept past Bulgaria 3-0 thanks to a Wayne Rooney brace and a Gary Cahill strike.
Fabio Capello’s men are now 1/8 to beat Wales who also recorded an impressive 2-1 victory over Montenegro.
And England hould have no problem living up to their billing as overwhelming favourites – despite what Terry says.
“Wales have shown tonight that they can compete with some really tough sides, so it’s going to be tough,” said Terry to the BBC.
“It was a good performance and a great win. We asked for that yesterday.
“What we are seeing is competition for places all over the pitch.”
“The new young players have brought a lot of enthusiasm into the camp and they are a big part of England’s future.”
The last time England played Wales back in March, they barely broke a sweat as they ran out convincing 2-0 winners in Cardiff.
Despite Wales’s win last night there nothing to suggest things will be any different this time out – especially as Craig Bellamy and David Vaughan will be missing through suspension.
While there may not be much value in backing the win at 1/8, putting some cash on England to keep a clean sheet against a Wales side who have scored just one goal in their previous four away games looks well worth a punt.
England can be backed at 5/1 to record another 2-0 win against the Welsh.
