Fulham vs Manchester City: Business as usual for Mancini

Published:

After their blistering start to the Premier League season, Manchester City witnessed a slight reality check when held at home by Napoli in the Champions League in midweek.

However, back in domestic action, it should be business as usual for Roberto Mancini as he attempts to extend his 100 per cent Premier League start to five games by winning at Fulham.

Although, this will be the first occasion that the squad will have to show that they can cope with the demands of challenging in both competitions.

Manchester City’s record in London is also good with just one defeat in ten visits, while they have triumphed on their last two trips to Craven Cottage.

It is 4/7 that Manchester City beat Fulham, but they will have to do without injured duo Nigel de Jong and James Milner.

Fulham have made a struggled start to find themselves in the relegation places, collecting only two points from their opening four fixtures.

However, their hopes will be improved by the fact that they are still unbeaten at home this season, while manager Martin Jol has previously discovered the winning mentality against Manchester City.

Jol has triumphed in all six matches against the opposition and it is 11/2 that he masterminds another victory, this time for Fulham.

If Fulham fail to win it will match their longest ever Premier League sequence without a Craven Cottage victory and the draw is priced at 11/4.

One of the big eye openers of Manchester City’s start has been their desire to attack, with Sergio Aguero and Edin Dzeko already scoring 12 times between them in the Premier League this season.

There is every chance they will find the target again as the last time that a fixture between Manchester City and Fulham saw a clean sheet kept was in 2004.

Premier League odds are 1/1 that both teams are on the scoresheet again and Fulham will be hoping for a better performance from big-money signing Bryan Ruiz than he produced against Blackburn last weekend.
