Two more faces certain to arrive at Arsenal before end of month

News.ladbrokes was correct back in June when it announced that Arsenal would sign Gervinho and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain this summer, now the Gunners look poised to bring in another two stars before the closing of the transfer window.

Arsenal could do with strength in depth across all areas of the pitch and they seem almost assured to bring in a new central defender and a striker.

Park Chu Young seems to have already been snapped up from Monaco and could prove a big bargain at £3m.

The South Korean captain looked set to be on his way to Lille and had already completed part of a medical, but the Gunners appear to have changed his mind.

Park will wear the vacant number nine shirt at the Emirates and add another option to a strike force that already includes Robin Van Persie and Marouane Chamakh.

The one potential problem for Arsenal is that Park will have to complete national service for his country in two years’ time, unless he is given special permission to miss it.

In defence, Gary Cahill looks set to move to the Emirates and given the way his head was off the job at hand in Bolton’s defeat at Liverpool, this seems a done deal.

Only an asking price needs clarifying and although Arsenal have had a cheeky £6m bid quickly rejected for the England defender, they are thought to be happy to pay over double this figure if it means landing their man.

Elsewhere, Arsenal’s chase of Eden Hazard appears to have ended, but they are expected to make a serious offer for Yann M’Vila from Rennes before the end of the month.

Arsenal are currently a massive 22/1 in the Premier League odds to win the title, although finishing in the top four will be their chief concern.
