Tottenham see odds slashed in race to sign Joey Barton

Alan Pardew’s odds of being sacked by Newcastle have been slashed by Ladbrokes.

His odds of getting the chop have tumbled in the last 24 hours to 3/1 (from 8/1) making him the second favourite to go next.

Joey Barton’s future also remains in the balance and Aston Villa at 4/1 are the favourites for his signature. It’s 9/2 he goes to Tottenham and Celtic’s odds of signing the player have been trimmed from 10/1 to 6/1.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Punters feel that Pardew may not escape the bloodbath. His odds to leave are in free fall as the chaos at St James’ park continues.”
