The Weekly Accumulator: Europa League sixfold pays 42/1

Published:

Our European football accumulators have typically been let down by two or three wrong predictions in recent weeks, but with only six selections made tonight, there is every chance our luck will change.

With so many teams typically ultra-short prices for their Europa League qualification fixtures, it often takes many selections to get a worthy accumulator price.

However, this is not the case tonight with Rennes the only seriously heavy favourite and that means we only need to correctly identify six results to get a return of 42/1 in the Europa League odds.

PAOK are our shortest-priced selections at 1/3 to win the second leg of their third qualifying round fixture at home to Norwegian outfit Valerenga.

The Greek outfit won their opening encounter 2-0 and have retained a 100 per cent winning record at home in their domestic league this season.

Also odds-on are Sparta Prague and Karpaty Lviv, who both bring comfortable advantages into their respective second legs.

Sparta Prague beat Sarajevo 5-0 in their opening game and are 4/6 to triumph again in their away tie.

Meanwhile, Karpaty are also 4/6 in the Europa League betting to win for the second time against Irish outfit St Patricks Athletic.

Elsewhere, Aktobe are looking to qualify for the group stages of the competition for the first time and highlighted their dedication to the tournament by resting virtually their whole team for their latest Kazakhstan league game.

Aktobe are 5/4 to beat Russian side Alania back at home after drawing 1-1 away.

FK Senica manager Stanislav Griga has openly admitted that Red Bull Salzburg are better than his Slovak team in every department and therefore Salzburg are good value at 5/4 to add to their 1-0 first-leg success.

Palermo are the riskiest selection at 5/4 to win away to Thun after drawing the initial leg 2-2, but should also be able to make their superior squad count.
