The Safety Net: Roma have to win in the Europa League

Published:

Today is a potentially momentous day for the safety net bet as we look to eclipse the £500 barrier for the first time and we are banking on Roma doing the honours in the Europa League.

We have made steady progress since starting the safety net bet with £50 in our bank balance midway through the French Open and have picked numerous winning tips that have fulfilled our aim of making £20 each day.

A few losers have also snuck in along the way, but we fell that Roma can continue our current triumphant streak by beating Slovan Bratislava tonight.

John Isner made it eight victories in succession for the safety net bet yesterday when beating Jarkko Nieminen in the Winston-Salem Open and Roma certainly cannot afford to be taking it easy against their Slovakian opponents.

Roma lost the first leg of the Europa League play-off round qualifier in Slovakia 1-0, but can take confidence from the fact that they dominated their opponents, but somehow failed to take their chances.

Luis Enrique will also be able to call upon Francesco Totti from the start of the second leg, after a minor knock meant that could only be introduced as a late substitute in the opening encounter.

Slovan Bratislava are determined not to be overwrought when visiting Roma and have been quick to point out that they will not simply be tourists in Italy.

However, it is hard not to see Roma getting the victory they need and because they are 2/9 in the Europa League odds to win, we will be staking £90 on this result.

Current Status
Bank: £499
Today’s stake: £90
Best case scenario: £519
Worst case scenario: £409

Last Safety Net bet: John Isner to beat Jarkko Nieminen @ 2/7

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
