The Safety Net: Lisicki to extend winning tennis tip streak

Published:

Defeat was avoided in the safety net bet last week and we are hoping for more of the same over the coming five days, starting today with Sabine Lisicki in the Texas Tennis Open in Dallas.

Tennis proved solid ground for the safety net bet last week, with victories for Tomas Berdych, Francesca Schiavone and Rafael Nadal.

Now with only a week until the start of the US Open, players will be completing their final hard court preparations ahead of the final Grand Slam of the year.

Despite being the fifth seed in Dallas, Lisicki perhaps looks the best bet in the tennis odds to win the Texas Tennis Open, with none of the top 14 players in the world rankings taking part.

However, before we get ahead of ourselves, the German has to progress past Sania Mirza in the opening round.

The pair’s only previous two meetings have both been this year, with the head-to-head locked at 1-1.

But what is significant is that Lisicki triumphed in the hard court showdown and also heads to Dallas in by far the better current form.

Since the start of the current hard court run of tournaments following Wimbledon, Mirza has only played six matches, losing four times.

Meanwhile, her only two victories have come in qualifying matches.

On the other hand, Lisicki reached the semi-finals in Stanford and quarter finals in Carlsbad, with her defeats coming against big names Serena Williams and Vera Zvonareva.

Lisicki is 1/6 in the tennis betting to beat Mirza and so we will be staking £120 on this outcome to fulfil our aim of making £20 each day.

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
