The League Two teams to put in your accumulator this weekend

Published:

Swindon Town and Bristol Rovers justified their billing on the opening weekend of the Football League and so we’re placing our faith in the top two this week.

Shrewsbury could only manage a draw at home to the relegated Plymouth Argyle but on paper it’s one of their harder games of the weekend and our pre-season fancies are also included in our treble.

Follow the links for our Championship and League One tips but below you’ll find the rundown on why we think Bristol Rovers, Swindon and Shrewsbury are the best bets this weekend.

Bristol Rovers to beat Torquay United @ 10/11

Paul Buckle will come face-to-face with the Torquay team for the first time since leading them to the play-off final last season, but there won’t be any nostalgia spared here.

Torquay will be up for this match but the Gulls have conceded six times in two games this season and the Rovers strike force can prosper against a side that kept just two clean sheets in 15 away matches last season.

AFC Wimbledon to beat Dagenham and Redbridge @11/5

Wimbledon may have lost their opening two games of the season but they have scored twice in both games against two of the top teams in the division.

The Dagenham defence has kept just six clean sheets in 40 games and Wimbledon can register their first win upon their return to the football league

Shrewsbury to beat Burton Albion @13/8

Burton have never beaten Shrewsbury in the Football League and while the draw remains a worry, Shrewsbury look too good a price for Saturday’s clash.

Shrewsbury have conceded just one goal in their last six league games and while this is a new season, we fancy Shrewsbury to carry on where they left off and they look a solid away win on Saturday.
