Punters Kean to back Blackburn boss for the sack in-play

Steve Kean has been cut for the sack by Ladbrokes as punters got off to an indifferent start in the Premier League.

Kean is now the 5/4 market leader to be the next manager to leave as his Blackburn side crashed 2-1 at home to a well backed Wolves side (5/2 from 11/4).

QPR boss Warnock has also been cut following his side’s 4-0 loss at home to Bolton and it’s the west Londoners who are also slashed for relegation (now 5/4 from 13/8).

Blackburn are also now 2/1 (from 3/1) for the drop, suiting the London based customer who had £100,000 on Kean’s men to fall through the trap door on Friday afternoon.

Home draws for coupon bankers Liverpool, well backed Fulham and Newcastle were also music to the bookies’ ears on an opening day when the increased in-play offering gave turnover a massive boost.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Punters clearly couldn’t wait for the top action to resume. They got stuck into a number of singles and thankfully Liverpool & Arsenal failed to produce.”

He added: “In-play betting on the sack race was also well received and backers wasted no time getting stuck into under-fire Kean.
