Premier League new season betting specials

Liverpool will be the first team on the score sheet this season according to Ladbrokes.

The bookies have priced up a number of new season specials and make Liverpool their 9/2 favourites to be the first team to score this term.

Kop strikers Carroll & Suarez are the joint 7/1 favourites to be the first players on target in the new campaign and Chelsea’s Drogba (7/1 fav) and Torres (8/1) are at the head of the ‘First league hat-trick’ betting.

The promoted teams are expected to get 3 points between them this weekend at 5/2. It’s 3/1 they get 1 point and 125/1 they win all their matches.

Ladbrokes also expect a red card to be shown before any other incident at 1/2. It’s 5/2 a player misses a penalty before any event listed and 10/1 a manager is sent to the stands.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Liverpool’s new-look strikeforce could well be quick off the mark this weekend. Chelsea’s hit men are expected to grab the first hat-trick and we can’t rule out any City striker as they host new boys Swansea.”

He added: “We’re craving action just as much as punters after the long summer. Of all the potential flash points this weekend we think the red mist could descent first.”
