Pick of the Pundits: Salisbury prepares for the storming Seta

Published:

Yesterday wasn’t a great day for the 50 tipsters in the Racing Post naps competition with just a fifth of them managing to nap a winner, and punters are hoping for a better showing from the pundits today.

Two men who the punters will be keeping an eagle eye on are Glendale of The Scotsman and Garry Owen of the Daily Record with Glendale chasing a third nap in a rown and Owen chasing a fourth nap in a row.

Both pundits have napped Seta in the 16:05 at Salisbury today and considering their form, she looks a strong bet.

The Guardian saw their search for a hat-trick end in disappointment yesterday but the broadsheet’s tipster has shown some solid form this month and the paper are also napping Seta today.

16:05 Salisbury: Seta – 2/1

She may struggle at Group level but Seta has won all three of her races at Listed level and Luca Cumani will be looking forward to running his four-year-old in this fillies Listed race at Salisbury today.

Five favourites have won this race in the past two years and Seta will be hoping to make it three favourites in a row as she currently heads the market at 2/1 – clear of Clinical at 6/1.

The only question against Seta is her ability to handle the 1m1f trip as the furthest she has gone is 1m, and she has won just two of her six starts at that distance.

However two of those starts were in Group company and the other two losing starts came early in her career and Seta returns to a field that she is more than capable of dominating today.

The main challenge may come from Primevere (7/1) as Roger Charlton’s stable is incredible form at the moment with six wins from 12 runners in the last 14 days, but Hayley Turner’s mount is yet to win at Listed level yet.

Piano (8/1) is also a danger but Seta looks a strong pick for the pundits today
