Parker 4/5 to be a Tottenham player by end of the transfer window

Just three days ago Tottenham Hotspur were believed to have made a solid enquiry for West Ham United’s Scott Parker, and the bookmakers believe the deal is all but done.

Parker is 4/5 to be a Tottenham Hotspur player by the time the transfer window closes at 11pm on Wednesday evening and for the Queens Park Rangers fans holding out hope, he’s 9/2 to be a QPR player.

It’s 13/8 that Parker remains at West Ham and Hammers fans who were hopeful of keeping the midfielder look set to be disappointed by close of play Wednesday.

Parker has featured in three of West Ham’s five games this season but has failed to appear in any of their last two games as the midfielder’s exit looms large.

West Ham today moved to sign Tottenham’s young midfielder Jake Livermore on loan but the 21-year-old has refused to drop down to the Championship.

Having started three of Tottenham’s four league games this season it’s easy to understand why Livermore doesn’t want to leave, but the arrival of Parker would see the youngster’s first team chances limited.

West Ham’s move for Livermore suggests they’re resigned to losing Parker and the 4/5 for him to be a Tottenham player looks a solid bet.

Elsewhere Shawn Wright-Philips is 1/1 to be a Queens Park Rangers player by the end of Wednesday while it seems Gary Cahill, Raul Meireles and Peter Crouch are going nowhere – Cahill and Crouch are 4/6 to stay at their clubs while Meireles is 2/5 to stay at Liverpool.

Luka Modric is 5/6 to stay at Tottenham and 5/6 to go to Chelsea as the bookmakers struggle to understand the situation.

Chelsea’s move for Meireles suggests Modric is staying at White Hart Lane but with a day and a half until the transfer window shuts, the bookmakers continue to protect their margins on a potential deal being done.
