Man Utd vs Arsenal: Fergie to add misery to Wenger’s woes
It’s by far the biggest fixture of the weekend but Arsenal fans would’ve been hoping their team were about to send out an early warning to their title rivals – instead they’re hoping that the game stays tight.
Arsenal’s problems have been well documented but they recieved a confidence-boosting win against Udinese in midweek, however, that doesn’t seem enough to convince them or punters that they can win at Old Trafford.
Arsenal are an incredible 6/1 to win at Old Trafford and if they didn’t have so many internal issues, most punters would be taking that as the value bet this weekend.
Manchester United can be backed at 1/2 to win and considering they have lost just twice to Arsenal in the last ten matches – both away from home – they look a solid bet.
Sir Alex Ferguson’s young side have gelled quickly and with five goals in two games, have already made a strong start to the season.
The young defence will be tested more vigorously this week than they were against Spurs last week, and Robin van Persie will be eager to test David De Gea, but Man Utd remain the better bet to win.
Wayne Rooney enjoys goal bursts and having scored in his last two games he can be expected to score again. He is 7/2 to get the first goal and 4/5 to score at any time.
Arsenal have scored just the once at Old Trafford in their last five visits and so a Manchester United win to nil is tempting at 6/4.
Arsenal are yet to score in the Premier League, but did manage to get two goals against Udinese.
While De Gea still has plenty to prove, he looked a lot more assured in front of a home crowd against Tottenham and a Manchester United 2-0 win looks the pick of the correct score market at 7/1.
