Liverpool rumoured to be making shock bid for Celtic winger

Kenny Dalglish is keen to add to Liverpool’s burgeoning British contingent by making a bid for Celtic winger Paddy McCourt – according to the Daily Mirror at least.

Dalglish is keen to add more pace and flair to his side and McCourt’s brilliant goal against the mighty Faroe Islands for Northern Ireland is apparently enough to convince the Liverpool legend that he can cut it in the Premier League.

The Daily Mirror acknowledge the 27-year-old is unlikely to make the Reds’ starting line-up but reckon he’s more likely to be used as an impact player from the bench.

Unfortunately (or fortunately) for Liverpool fans, it’s hard to see this rumour being anything other than that – especially when Aaron Lennon is still on the radar.

Meanwhile, one thing that looks certain to happen is the departure of Christian Poulsen who has struggled to impress for the Reds since his move from Juventus last summer.

Speaking in the Daily Mail he said: “My future needs to be resolved in August and preferably as soon as possible. I have to get to play matches regularly.”

Despite several new signings over the summer Dalglish is keen to add more players to his side and has been told he must first sell before he can buy.

Poulsen’s days look numbered.
