Chepstow Placepot: Take home money without picking winners
Published:Although there are seven races taking place at Chepstow today, finding horses to finish among the places in the first six is all that is required to secure a share of the total Tote Placepot pool.
Cavaleiro and Sannabel both look worthy favourites and barring any massive surprises should do their bit for the placepot, while some other leading fancies all look solid contenders.
14:00 Chepstow – Fast On @ 4/1
Fast On should enjoy a return to a stiff track after plugging on at Hamilton last time out and is open to improvement. The decision to use a visor could also prove a wise one.
14:30 Chepstow – Cavaleiro @ 2/7
Looking at today’s Pick of the Pundits will give a more detailed breakdown as to why Cavaleiro is almost impossible to oppose for victory. Cavaleiro has never previously been outside the first three against better opposition.
15:00 Chepstow – Mill Mick @ 9/2
Mill Mick has been well backed this morning and the drop in trip to 1m has been what the horse has been crying out for thanks to his strong travelling nature and lack of a real telling finish.
15:30 Chepstow – Sannibel @ 11/10
Sannibel has finished second on her first two starts and brings the best form to Chepstow of the five runners taking part.
16:00 Chepstow – Cruise Tothelimit @ 5/2
Cruise Tothelimit won twice over today’s 5f last month and has since failed to build on this winning streak when upped in trip. Favourite Swendab may struggle on softer ground and also has to attempt to defy a penalty.
16:30 Chepstow – Band Of Thunder @ 6/1
Perhaps the most open race on the card, although the ground has resulted in many of the top principals being withdrawn. Band Of Thunder should improve for today’s extended 2m trip and ran his best previous race on his only other run over the distance.
