Chelsea vs Norwich: Home win biggest banker of season

Published:

It seems a case of not if but by how many as Chelsea look to remain in the leading group at the head of the Premier League standings after three games with a home win over Norwich.

Match Odds

Chelsea are a short 1/5 to beat Norwich but this is for good reason, especially given the strength of their home form.

At Stamford Bridge, Chelsea are unbeaten in their last eight Premier League games, winning on seven of these occasions.

New signing Juan Manuel Mata will be in the Chelsea squad, but will start on the bench, although David Luiz is set to miss out despite beginning to train again after a thigh injury.

Norwich will take some confidence from only having lost one of their last nine league games on the road and may fancy their chances of catching Chelsea not at their best this early into a new season.

The Canaries are 14/1 to beat Chelsea, while it is 5/1 that they claim a more than expected draw.

But their chances will suffer if Wes Hoolahan does not pass a late fitness test on a hamstring problem.

Correct Scoreline

However, not only are Chelsea expected to win, but win handsomely.

Chelsea have triumphed in their last four showdowns with Norwich in all competitions and have scored at least three goals in each meeting.

Meanwhile, the fact that Chelsea average more goals in August than any other current Premier League side is not a good omen for Norwich.

Norwich have also failed to score in five of their last seven encounters with Chelsea and Andre Villas-Boas will want another clean sheet to add to the list.

Chelsea winning 5-0 in the Premier League odds at 14/1 could prove profitable, while the best bet may be the 11/10 that Chelsea triumph without conceding.
