Bolton vs Man City: Aguero to be stifled on Man City’s bogey ground

Published:

The final day of last season may have sealed Manchester City a tie for second place in the Premier League, but Mancini would’ve been more impressed with a win at the Reebok.

In Man City’s last six league trips to Bolton they have managed just that one win, and the Manchester club have failed to score in six of those trips.

Match Odds

Whether or not last season’s final day win has ended Man City’s hoodoo at the Reebok remains to be seen but at 8/11, there doesn’t seem to be much value in backing Man City to register consecutive wins at Bolton.

Bolton are 4/1 to win but have won just two of the last six home matches with Man City and the draw looks the pick of the betting at 5/2.

Bolton opened their Premier League campaign with a stunning 4-0 win at Queens Park Rangers and they won’t be short of confidence against the big-spending Man City, and punters should presume this is an away win just because of Sergio Aguero’s immediate impact.

Total Goals

Aguero looks set to be handed his first start for Manchester City and Carlos Tevez may be fit to sit on the bench, but there is a history of stalemates at the Reebok between these two and Gary Cahill will have prepared for Aguero all week.

Man City have scored just seven goals in nine Premier League away games this year and under 2.5 goals is 5/6 while a 0-0 draw is available at 11/1, but the best bet looks to be 13/2 for the 1-1 draw.

Aguero is 7/2 to get the opening goal but Ivan Klasnic looks a better bet at 9/1 following his brace against Man CIty last season.

Roberto Mancini’s side are 15/2 to come from behind and draw and considering Bolton haven’t lost three consecutive Premier League home games since December 2004, the draw seems the more probable result.
