The Safety Net – Pint Size no small selection at Southwell

Published:

Wes Newton made short work of Andy Smith in the opening round of the Darts World Matchplay and we are expecting more of the same in today’s horse racing at Southwell from the appropriately named Pint Size.

Newton overcame Smith 10-2 at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool to increase our bank balance to a healthy £341.50, from our initial £50.

However, none of tonight’s four matches in the same tournament make much betting appeal and so we are back to the horse racing and a rare venture to the all-weather action at Southwell.

Pint Size looks the standout winner of the 18:30 at Southwell as he returns to claiming company after being beaten in a handicap on his latest start.

But there is an obvious reason that Pint Size’s two-race winning streak was ended on his debut for trainer Gay Kelleway as he had to concede 23lb to eventual winner Sonko.

A week after this defeat, Pint Size returns to the course for the Southwell Claiming Stakes and has plenty in his favour.

Pint Size won over course and distance two starts ago and is well ahead of all five of his opponents in the official ratings.

Auntie Joy is the horse that seems most likely to pose a danger, but it is hard to know how well she will take to fibresand on her debut on the surface.

With Pint Size available at 1/2 in the horse racing odds to win at Southwell, we will be staking £40 on his victory to fulfil our daily aim of making £20 profit.

Current Status

Last Safety Net bet: Wes Newton to beat Andy Smith @ 1/2

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
