Tevez to find City exit as stadium sponsor gets investigated

Offers for Carlos Tevez have been few and far between since the Argentine striker requested a move away from Manchester City, but Real Madrid are reportedly willing to offer Tevez a route out of Eastlands/City Of Manchester/Etihad Stadium.

Manchester City fans will be pleased to hear the names of Karim Benzema and Gonzalo Higuain being mentioned as potential makeweights in a deal for Tevez who is determined to seal a move away from Manchester.

A £50m price tag has been placed on Carlos Tevez and the Manchester City board are in a strong position to negotiate as the club would be quite happy keeping the want-away player.

Real Madrid are not prepared to fork over £50m for Tevez, but they are willing to include one of two first team strikers in a player-plus-cash deal for the Argentine.

Despite scoring 26 goals for Madrid last season, Jose Mourinho is yet to be convinced by Benzema and speculation surrounding the Frenchman’s exit from Madrid has been rife all summer.

Higuain spent a large part of last season on the sidelines but still managed 13 goals in 25 games and his goalscoring prowess cannot be doubted.

Tevez’s goals are something Manchester City must replace if they are to challenge Manchester United and Chelsea for the Premier League title next season, and both Benzema and Higuain are proven goalscorers at the top level.

Roberto Mancini’s side are 7/2 to win the title next season behind Manchester United (7/4) and Chelsea (5/2), but Manchester City are a long way clear of Arsenal at 8/1 as the bookies expect a three-way battle for the title.

Meanwhile Manchester City’s new sponsorship deal with Etihad Airlines is under investigation by UEFA following complaints from Europe’s top teams.
