PJ Harvey favourite for Mercury Prize

PJ Harvey is 2/1 favourite with Ladbrokes to win the Mercury Music Prize for her album Let England Shake.

In what looks like a vintage year for female vocalists, the 2001 Mercury winner is likely to face tough competition from Adele (5/1) and Anna Calvi (6/1).

James Blake is 7/1 to win for his self-titled debut album, while Tinie Tempah is 16/1. 2009 winners Elbow are 25/1 outsiders.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said, “The Mercury Prize is notoriously hard to call, but PJ Harvey’s got a great pedigree, and Let England Shake has all the hallmarks of an award-winning album.”
