It’s 5/1 he beats his old club Porto in the Champions League in his first season.
After huge plunges for Marco Van Basten, Harry Redknapp and Guus Hiddink the bookies are heralding his appointment as a winning result in what was an exceptionally volatile market.
Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “We’re over the moon with this appointment after three front runners were backed off the boards. The move for Villas-Boas was paltry in comparison.”
he added: “We don’t expect him to last his contract despite having a decent chance of collecting some silverware at the first attempt.”
