The Weekly Accumulator: 16 winners for Wimbledon

Published:

Although all of the matches involved in yesterday’s accumulator are still to be completed because of the rain delays, Stanislas Wawrinka’s straight-set defeat to Simone Bolelli has ensured that it is already a loser.

This was the only match from yesterday’s bankers to have so far let us down, but Juan Ignacio Chela and Chanelle Scheepers did also lose in the tight calls section.

But this will not put us off having another go at selecting a winning accumulator today and with many favourites at especially short prices to win their respective matches, we will be picking 16 players to get the job done.

The accumulator will pay almost 82/1 and can finally secure a victory after three unsuccessful trial runs.

Bankers
Roger Federer to beat Adrian Mannarino @ 1/100
Novak Djokovic to beat Kevin Anderson @ 1/50
Caroline Wozniacki to beat Virginie Razzano @ 1/33
David Nalbandian to beat Andreas Haider-Maurer @ 1/9
David Ferrer to beat Ryan Harrison @ 1/8
Ana Ivanovic to beat Eleni Daniilidou @ 1/8
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga to beat Grigor Dmitrov @ 1/7
Julia Goerges to beat Mathilde Johansson @ 1/7
Yanina Wickmayer to beat Anna Titishvili @ 1/7
Guillermo Garcia-Lopez to beat Karol Beck @ 4/9
John Isner to beat Nicolas Almagro @ 4/9

Tight Calls
Robin Soderling to beat Lleyton Hewitt @ 3/10
Sara Errani to beat Kateryna Bondarenko @ 2/5
Xavier Malisse to beat Florian Mayer @ 8/13
Maria Kirilenko to beat Tamarine Tanasugarn @ 5/6
Evgeniya Rodina to beat Flavia Pennetta @ 9/4

The obvious worry for the accumulator is the selection of Rodina to beat Pennetta as this is by far the biggest price that we have picked.

However, Pennetta does not have the greatest Wimbledon record, having played at SW19 in every year since 2002 and still waiting to make it past the fourth round.

Penetta also required three sets to squeeze by relatively unknown Romanian youngster Irina-Camelia Begu in the opening round, while Rodina triumphed in straight sets.
