The Safety Net – Galivant to run away with victory at Chepstow

Published:

We hit the £150 milestone for the first time with our Safety Net last week when Janko Tipsarevic beat Kei Nishikori and we’re confident a return to horse racing can increase our bank again today.

We’re up £100 on our initial investment of £50 but still a long way from our target of £7,200, however this is a slow and steady betting race and out selection at Chepstow today can net us out £20 target.

6.30 Chepstow: Galivant – 1/3

This Class 5 Maiden Stakes worth £2,267 to the winner is a very weak renewal bar one horse and Galivant stands out above the five other runners as the horse with all the class in this race.

Beaten by a shoulder over this same trip and at the same racecourse three weeks ago, Galivant is back and ready to register her first career victory.

The good to soft ground at Chepstow today should provide no problems for the John Hills-trained three-year-old after her performance on soft ground three weeks ago, and her form in her previous start holds up very well after Royal Ascot last week.

This is Galivant’s fifth career start and will be the second time she has run at Class 5 level, but it’s her form in the Class 1 Oaks Trial Stakes at Lingfield at the start of May is what impresses having finished fourth behind Zain Al Boldan and Field Of Miracles.

Both Zain Al Boldan and Field Of Miracles ran in the Group Two Ribblesdale Stakes at Royal Ascot last week and finished fifth and second respectively, and on the basis of that for, there is plenty more to come from Galivant.

The only danger in the race looks to be Cluain Dara who finished sixth in a Class 5 race at Chepstow just ten days ago, but Cluain Dara’s form holds nothing to her rival and this should be a breeze for Gallivant.

We’re staking £60 on Galivant at 1/3 to win £20.

Current Status:
Bank: £155.50
Today’s stake: £60
Best case scenario: £175.50
Worst case scenario: £95.50

Last Safety Net bet: Janko Tipsarevic beat Kei Nishikori at 2/5

Wealth warning: although we are confident the safety net bet’s strategy will be profitable over a period of time, the nature of sport means we cannot guarantee you will win every single time.
