Arsenal receive €30m plus players offer from Barca for Fabregas

Following the news yesterday that Arsene Wenger will allow Cesc Fabregas to leave, Barcelona have immediately weighed in with a €30m plus players offer.

Yesterday we reported that a deal for Fabregas looked unlikely should Barcelona complete a €30m deal for Udinese forward Alexis Sanchez due to the strict transfer budget put in place by the Barcelona board.

But that €45m budget has disappeared with Arsenal today receiving an offer from Barcelona for Fabregas worth €30m plus Bojan Krkic and Thiago Alcantara.

News broke yesterday that Fabregas had received a promise from Wenger allowing him to leave Arsenal this summer, and Spanish paper Marca are today reporting that the Spanish midfielder has an agreement in place with Barcelona.

But this would only come in to play should Barcelona meet Arsenal’s valuation of the player and it is suggested that Arsenal want €45m and no players for Fabregas.

Barcelona believe that €30m will be enough to land Fabregas because of his desire to leave the Gunners but considering Fabregas is represented by Darren Dein, son of David Dein, this offer looks like the beginning of a lengthy negotiation process.

Dein is flying out to Barcelona on Saturday to represent Fabregas in negotiations over a deal, and with the agreement between Fabregas and Barcelona believed to be about his wages, it seems just a case of Arsenal and Barcelona agreeing a fee for the midfielder.

It’s not a great time to be an Arsenal fan with a number of players expressing or suggesting a desire to leave, but Marca also claim that Wenger will tie up a deal for Scott Parker once the Fabregas deal is done.

With €30m likely to be spent on Sanchez and anywhere between €30-€45m spent on Fabregas, Barcelona’s strict transfer budget of €45m has disappeared and there will be a number of Barcelona players that will have to be sacrificed to fund the moves for the two players.
