14:30 Royal Ascot: Everyday Dave to land win for Americans

You couldn’t ask for a tougher race to start day three of the Royal Ascot meeting.

The Norfolk Stakes is a Group Two two-year-old five furlong sprint and punters have been given the task of picking the winner from this 21-runner field.

With 12 of the 21 runners priced under 25/1 it’s going to be a difficult task and there would be no surprise to see many punters using the eeny, meeny, miny moe method.

Kevin Ryan’s Bapak China is the 3/1 favourite and having beaten Frederick Engels, the winner of the Windsor Castle Stakes on Tuesday, he has to be respected.

But the pick of the field is Everyday Dave who has spent the past two months in France preparing for this race and after winning the Prix Pensbury at Chamilly in May, has the best form in the race.

Everyday Dave is one of a string of two-year-olds sent over to Royal Ascot by trainer Wesley Ward, and the American trainer seems to have his best chance with Everyday Dave at 3/1.

However Everyday Dave will face stiff competition from both Bannock and Pyman’s Theory who will resume their battle after tussling it out for the first two places at Sandown a couple of weeks ago.

Both Pyman’s Theory and Bannock are 7/1 chances but it was Pyman’s Theory who emerged victorious at Sandown and there will be plenty of money for him.

But Bannock is yet to finish outside the top two in his four career starts and looks the better each-way bet over Pyman’s Theory.

The draw could have a big influence on this race and punters should look for horses drawn low or high, with the runners drawn in the middle already at a disadvantage.
