Murray 1/33 to continue marching through the French Open field
Published:Andy Murray may not be playing his best tennis but with his French Open draw he shouldn’t need to until the quarter-finals at the earliest.
Despite winning his opening two matches in straight sets the general consensus is that Murray is yet to hit top gear at this year’s French Open.
German Michael Berrer is up next for Murray and the betting suggests the Scot will cruise through at 1/33 to win.
The two have never met and Murray should be weary of a guy who has ousted Milos Raonic and Arnaud Clement so far this week, but this looks as if it is another match Murray will struggle to a straight sets win in.
Murray is 2/7 to win 3-0 and while Berrer might pose a few problems throughout the match, we expect Murray to march into the fourth round.
Alexandr Dolgopolov vs Viktor Troicki
Waiting for Murray will be either Dolgopolov or Troicki and after his semi-final appearance in Nice last week, Dolgopolov is the 8/13 favourite to set up the fourth round tie with Murray.
Troicki shouldn’t be written off though and the Serb offers plenty of value at 6/5 considering he beat Dolgopolov in their only meeting last year.
The Serb was the 2-1 winner that day and punters can expect this one to go the distance with Troicki 11/2 to win 3-2.
Mardy Fish vs Giles Simon
Neither player has been at there best during this clay court season and it’s Simon’s love of clay that makes him the 1/2 favourite.
Fish isn’t a massive fan of the clay courts but has looked solid in the French Open thus far.
At 6/4 to win Fish offers plenty of value but the real value is backing Fish to win 3-2 at 11/2 and Simon to win 3-2 at 5/1 to return a tidy profit in what is sure to be a tight match.
