Manchester United and City chase Sneijder and Sanchez

Manchester City may have got one over local rivals United in their FA Cup semi final, but Sir Alex Ferguson looks set to do everything possible to stop the Citizens coming out on top in the summer transfer market.

According to The Daily Mail, United – who are currently 6/4 to win the Champions League – are thought to be after Inter Milan midfielder Wesley Sneijder and Udinese winger Alexis Sanchez.

Unfortunately for Sir Alex, City are also thought to be interested the players. However, The Daily Mail believes United are in prime position to land the duo despite City’s extra financial clout.

Ferguson is thought to be a long term admirer of Sneijder and, with Paul Scholes still undecided about his future, the whispers are growing louder that Ferguson may break the bank to get his man.

United have also had an eye on Chilean winger Sanchez for several years and his performances in Serie A this season are thought to have convinced Ferguson he could be worth spending some serious cash on.

However, City are hoping that their huge financial recourses and ambitious plans for the future will be enough to hijack the deals at the last minute.

City would certainly have more of a chance of landing the pair if they were able to boast some silverware at the end of the season and everything is pointing towards them doing just that.

Roberto Mancini’s side are currently 8/11 to beat Stoke City at Wembley in a fortnight and claim what Citizen’s fans hope will be the first of many.

A £30 stake on City to beat Stoke 1-0 in the FA Cup final would pay out £180! New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
