Man City vs Spurs – Hosts to get revenge 12 months on

| 10.05.2011

Manchester City look poised to get some sweet revenge on Tottenham and are 10/11 in the Premier League odds to collect a victory that would confirm their spot in the Champions League next season.

Match Odds

Tottenham claimed a valuable 1-0 win in the same fixture late on last season which ensured that Harry Redknapp’s men won the race to finish fourth in the Premier League.

The pair are locked in a similar battle in the current campaign, with Manchester City having taken the initiative through a six-point advantage this season with just three games remaining.

Since the defeat last May, Manchester City have only lost twice at home in all competitions and will take confidence from the fact that Spurs are definitely without Gareth Bale, while Luka Modric and last year’s hero Peter Crouch are doubtful.

Tottenham have been on a disappointing run of late with just one victory in their last 12 games, although they have drawn six of their last eight encounters.

It is 3/1 in the Premier League betting that Tottenham repeat last season’s victory at Eastlands and 12/5 that they leave with a point.

In Tottenham’s favour is that they have triumphed in 11 of their last 13 league meetings with Manchester City.

Correct Scoreline

A 2-1 scoreline is without doubt due in the fixture as this has been the result in eight of the last 12 Premier League meetings between the pair, but none of the three.

It is 7/1 that Manchester City win 2-1 and this result could be even more likely if Carlos Tevez wins his fitness race to take part.

Tottenham’s odds are 10/1 to prevail 2-1, which would narrow their gap to three points in the race for fourth spot.

A £30 stake on Manchester City beating Spurs 2-1 would return £210. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
