Birmingham vs Fulham – Fulham to leave Blues in precarious position

Published:

With two games left in this Premier League season, there will be plenty of Birmingham City fans who will be sweating over their survival chances.

Alex McLeish knows Sunday’s Premier League tie with Fulham is Birmingham’s best chance of securing the three points they need to effectively avoid the drop, but Fulham look set to leave Birmingham fans reaching for the deodorant on the final day.

Match Odds

Birmingham may be the 6/5 favourites to win but it’s a game that looks certain to end with a share of the spoils and the draw is the value bet at 23/10.

The two sides drew 1-1 earlier in the season at Craven Cottage and while Birmingham struggle to maintain any form, Fulham have managed just two wins away from the home in their last 36 Premier League home games.

A win away to Sunderland last time out leaves Fulham a tempting bet at 23/10, but it’s hard to escape from the draw, especially considering Birmingham have won just two of their eight Premier League games against London sides this season.

Total Goals

In those eight games against London sides Birmingham have scored one goal in each game and they’ve scored exactly one goal in each of their last four home league games with Fulham.

It looks as if Fulham will have to score twice if Mark Hughes’ side want all three points, but considering they’ve managed to do that just four times away from home, the 1-1 draw looks the safe bet at 11/2.

Eight of Fulham’s last nine goals against Birmingham have come in the second half and so the value looks to be betting on a home win at half-time and a draw at full-time which is priced at 14/1.

Fulham are also 7/1 to come from behind and draw.

A £10 stake on Roger Johnson scoring first and the game ending 1-1 would return £810. Sign up here to take advantage of a free bet worth up to £30.
