Bet on Novak Djokovic to keep up impressive winning streak

Novak Djokovic’s 38 match winning streak nearly came to an end in his epic Rome Masters semi-final with Andy Murray yesterday, and he’s in for a similarly tough battle in today’s final against Rafa Nadal.

Nadal may be world No.1 and the overwhelming 2/5 favourite to leave Italy with the title, but there is more than enough evidence to suggest Djokovic can spring a surprise.

The Serb has won his last three matches against Nadal and even came through in the Madrid Masters earlier this year. That was the first time that Djokovic has beaten the Spaniard on clay and he’s a very tempting 7/4 to repeat the trick today.

Djokovic’s hard-fought match against Andy Murray that ended 6-1 3-6 7-6 (7-2), may have handed Nadal an advantage though after the Spaniard cruised through in straight sets against Richard Gasquet in his semi.

Djokovic said of his winning streak: “There’s no secret that physically it’s catching up with me definitely.

“I’ve been playing the most matches of any players this year, next to Nadal, but playing at a high intensity and wanting to win every match.

“It’s normal and natural that you get tired or exhausted after matches like this, it’s nothing new to me.”
Djokovic’s winning streak will come to an end at some point – but it shouldn’t be today.

The 4/1 odds on him winning 2-1 look too good to turn down – especially considering the clay court hoodoo has been emphatically broken.

A £10 stake on Djokovic to win 2-1 would return £40. New customers can sign up here to take advantage of a free bet worth up to £30.
