Redknapp thinks Spurs can qualify for Champions League again

Tottenham are 7/4 in the Premier League odds to finish in the top four and this is now the target for Harry Redknapp as he hopes to ensure the club are back in the Champions League again next season.

Spurs’ European adventure was brought to an end for this campaign as they were dumped out of the Champions League 5-0 on aggregate by Real Madrid at the quarter-final stage.

However, playing the likes of Inter Milan, AC Milan and Real Madrid has certainly generated plenty of excitement at White Hart Lane and Redknapp wants these days to continue.

To do so, Tottenham will have to qualify for the Champions League again by finishing in the top four in the Premier League, which gives them some work to do as they currently lie fifth in the standings.

But the deficit to Manchester City is just three points and although Redknapp concedes that Spurs have a tough run in, he is still sure that they can beat Roberto Mancini’s team to fourth spot for the second season in succession.

Redknapp said: “If we can make the top four again, it would be a great achievement. I still think we’ve got a big chance. We’ve got tough games. We’ve got Arsenal here next week, then we’ve got Chelsea, we’ve got to go to Man City.

“They’re great games to look forward to. It’s got the makings of a good end of season again.”

Manchester City’s odds are 1/3 to finish in the top four and their squad is certainly stronger than 12 months ago when missing out to Spurs.

But Spurs will need to win this battle if want to improve their chances of retaining their best players, alongside being able to tempt the world’s best players to White Hart Lane in the close season.

A £30 stake on Spurs finishing in the top four this season would return £52.50. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
