Punters in for blockbuster final as unbeaten Djokovic takes on Nadal

Published:

An incredible fortnight in Miami will draw to a close on Sunday, but not before providing us with the tie of the year.

A fortnight ago Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic met in the final at Indian Wells, and considering the Serb enters this match unbeaten in 2011, you don’t need me to tell you that Nadal is gunning for revenge.

There aren’t many better sights in tennis than watching Nadal with a point to prove, but one that does rival is watching a confident Djokovic playing without inhibitions – there’s no doubt about it, this will be a match to savour.

Rafael Nadal vs Novak Djokovic

Trying to find a factor that gives one competitor the edge over the other is proving very difficult and that is why both players are 10/11 to win on Sunday.

Nadal holds a 16-8 head-to-head advantage over Djokovic, but the Serb has won four of the last six including that win a fortnight ago, and while Nadal destroyed Federer in the semi-final, Djokovic is unbeaten this year!

It’s tough to bet against someone who has won every tournament he’s played in 2011 but Nadal is the world number one for a reason and because of that we’re siding with the Spaniard.

The Spaniard’s victory over Federer was phenomenal and should he repeat that performance in the final, Djokovic will be unable to cope.

Only six of the 24 matches between the two have gone the distance and we’re siding with Nadal to win it 2-0 at 9/4 and the Spaniard to win the first set 7-5 at 12/1.

The old adage form is temporary, class is permanent rings true here and while Djokovic’s class can’t be disputed, he still has some way to go to prove he can better one of the greatest to ever play the game.

A £20 stake on Nadal winning the first set and the match would return £47.50. New customers can sign up here for up to £60 in free bets.
