Overton has course form to challenge in Zurich Classic

Identifying players with previous course form could prove the best strategy for the Zurich Classic of New Orleans and therefore Jeff Overton is liable to be challenging at the head of the leaderboard come the final day.

Overton has been largely consistent this year without ever looking like winning, as he has made the cut in eight of his nine PGA Tour starts, but only made the top ten once, at the Honda Classic.

However, 33/1 in the PGA Tour odds looks a decent price that he will make a greater challenge in New Orleans.

Overton has a more than solid record in the tournament, finishing in a share of 13th spot two years ago and then taking second behind Jason Bohn last season.

These results show that he is well suited to the TPC Louisiana course, with accuracy in finding the right parts of the undulating greens likely to be a key factor in securing victory.

Punters looking for some even greater value may be wise to consider Boo Weekley, who is another who has displayed a liking for TPC Louisiana in the past.

Weekley is another who has finished no worse than 13th in the event over the past two years and has certainly been aided by his ability to hit the ball straight off the tee.

The 37-year-old may not be having his best year with only one top-25 finish, but the fact he tops the PGA Tour statistics in terms of total driving must soon be rewarded with an improved result.

Weekley is 80/1 in the golf odds to land victory in the Zurich Classic of New Orleans.
