Messi 7/10 to outscore Ronaldo across Classico meetings

The goals of Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo are liable to have a major say on the results of the upcoming four games between Barcelona and Real Madrid and Ladbrokes are offering odds on which of the two strikers will score more.

Messi is the favourite in the goalscorer match bet market at 7/10 and there are a number of reasons as to why he is likely to outscore his fellow superstar.

Two of the four Classico meetings are taking place at the Bernabeu and Messi has netted on each of his last two visits to the home of Real Madrid.

Furthermore, Messi already has 48 goals to his name this season and with the creativity of Xavi and Andres Iniesta behind him, it is reasonable to suggest that he will be provided with a number of good chances.

However, Real Madrid manager Jose Mourinho seems to have worked out a strategy to stop the little Argentine scoring against his teams.

Messi has failed to hit the target in his last eight games against teams managed by Mourinho, which includes Barcelona’s 5-0 romp at the Nou Camp in La Liga earlier this season.

Ronaldo is 11/10 to score more goals than Messi across the four games, but to do so he will have to substantially improve his goals ratio against Barcelona.

Barcelona have proved a bogey team for Ronaldo in the past as he has never scored against them in six previous meetings with both Real Madrid and Manchester United, even missing a penalty on one occasion.

But the fact he tends to be more willing than Messi to shoot, particularly from distance, may work in his favour, as will the fact that Madrid rely more on him for goals than Barcelona do on Messi.

A £30 stake on Barcelona winning all four games with Real Madrid would return £360. New customers can sign up here for a free £30 bet.
