Kind draw makes Zvonareva the pick of the betting in Stuttgart

Seven of the world’s ten best female tennis players are in Stuttgart this week in a bid to win the first major clay court tournament of the season.

The Porsche Grand Prix betting is currently headed by Caroline Wozniacki and the world number one is 5/2 after her victory on the clay courts of Charleston last week.

Wozniacki will be searching for her third WTA title of the year this week but faces a stiff route to the final and because of that we’re siding with Vera Zvonareva who is the second seed this week in the absence of Kim Clijsters.

Zvonareva is a huge 7/1 to win the Porsche Grand Prix and while the Russian hasn’t been in the greatest of form this year, she’s been grinding out results and with a favourable draw looks the pick of the Porsche Grand Prix betting.

A beaten finalist last year, Zvonareva will be determined to go one better and after helping her country to a Davis Cup victory over Italy on Sunday the world number three will be full of confidence.

Today’s Porsche Grand Prix action sees Marion Bartoli, Na Li and Lucie Safarova take to the court and all three are favoured to progress.

Seeded eighth, Bartoli is 1/2 to beat Tsvetana Pironkova and will need no extra motivation to beat the Bulgarian who knocked her out of Wimbledon last year.

Safarova faces a tricky tie against Kristina Barrios and while Safarova is 3/10 to win, we’re siding with Barrios to cause a first round upset at 12/5 after showing the better form on clay last year.

Since losing in the Australian Open final Na Li is yet to win a match and she faces a tough task against Anastasija Sevastova and we’re backing the Latvian to cause another upset at 11/8.

A £10 stake on Zvonareva winning the Porsche Grand Prix would return £150. New customers can sign up here to receive a free tennis bet worth up to £30.
