JP McManus with purchase of potential Grand National winner

Published:

When JP McManus strolls to the bookies, everyone follows and so it has come as a but of a surprise that he has brought a potential Grand National winner just a week before the race.

Bluesea Cracker is currently trading at 25/1 in the Grand National betting, but the high-profile purchase by McManus has got everyone talking and he’s gone from a horse that attracted little support to the most talked about horse in the race.

We are yet to see his Grand National odds change but you can be sure that if McManus has one of his famous gambles on Bluesea Cracker, that 25/1 will disappear faster than an outsiders chance at Beechers Brook.

Bluesea Cracker will wear JP McManus’ famous green and gold colours when he lines up for the start of the 2011 Grand National, and Andrew McNamara went will take the ride.

McManus was successful for the first time in a Grand National last year when AP McCoy ride Don’t Push It to victory and Don’t Push It will try to become only the fifth horse to win consecutive Grand Nationals and he is available at 14/1.

Bluesea Cracker and Don’t Push It will be two of at least four Grand National runners owned by McManus, while Welsh National winner Synchronised (25/1) will take his place in the line-up if the ground softens, and Arbor Supreme (20/1) will run if he makes the entry list.

Can’t Buy Time and Quolibet make up the four runners guaranteed to take part in the National, but based on their Grand National odds of 50/1 and 100/1 respectively, McManus’ faith is in Don’t Push It and Bluesea Cracker.

Although Arbor Supreme is attracting plenty of support and should he make the cut, you can guarantee his Grand National odds will shorten dramatically.

A £20 stake on Bluesea Cracker winning the Grand National would return £520. New customers can sign up here to get £60 in free bets.
