Inter Milan to raid Man City and Tottenham for star players
Roberto Mancini hopes Carlos Tevez will recover in time for the FA Cup final but many believe that will be Tevez’s final appearance in a Manchester City shirt.
Manchester City are 2/5 to lift the FA Cup on May 14, and while many inside the Manchester City camp believe Tevez will be fit for the most important game in 35 years for the blue half of Manchester, the same people also believe he’s on his way out of the door come the end of the season.
Inter Milan and Juventus have expressed their interest in signing the Argentine and the whispers inside Eastland’s believe Italy is Tevez’s most likely destination.
Under the guidance of Leonardo Inter Milan have resurrected their season and while they are unlikely to make up the eight points on rivals AC Milan – Inter are 28/1 to win Serie A – it’s been a strong second half to the season for Inter.
But the squad needs strengthening and with money to spend in the summer not only will Leonardo try to tempt Carlos Tevez to the San Siro, the Brazilian has his eyes on Tottenham Hotspur’s Luka Modric too.
Gareth Bale has been touted as a potential signing for the Nerazzurri but it seems Inter will snub the Welshman in favour of his team mate.
Harry Redknapp would be reluctant to let Modric go but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has already confirmed Spurs will have to sell in the summer should they fail to qualify for the Champions League.
Wednesday night’s draw with Arsenal leaves Spurs two points behind Manchester City in the face for fourth place – Man City are 2/7 to finish fourth with Spurs 9/4 and Liverpool 22/1 – and with a tough run-in to come, Spurs prospects of playing Champions League football next season look slim.
