Goytisolo & Roth joint favourites for Man Booker Prize

Spain’s Juan Goytisolo and America’s Philip Roth are the joint 4/1 favourites with Ladbrokes to win the Man Booker International Prize.

Rohinton Mistry is the 5/1 second favourite with James Kelman the UK’s best chance of a winner at 6/1.

Philip Pulman isn’t far behind at 8/1 with John Le Carré (also of the United Kingdom) the 20/1 outsider of the group.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Foriegn writers have a great record in the competition and they are well represented in the shortlist. Kelman remains the United Kingdom’s best hope with Pulman also in the running.”
